Connecting China and Portuguese-speaking markets through a startup

Created in 2021 and developed with the Macau Forum, the 929 Challenge uses the location of Macau to connect China and Portuguese-speaking countries. The competition combines preparation, pitch and discovery of the ecosystems of the Great Bay. Its particularity is the cross-border link requested from the project, rather than a general restriction of nationality. A Gabonese team can consider this route if its proposal builds a real bridge with a Portuguese-speaking market, for example in distribution, technology or a professional service.

Bootcamp 12–16 then October 19–24, 2026; planned announcement of finalists on November 15; final and summit on December 3–4.
